I started out in the equestrian world as a show rider with Team Hollings with highlights including qualifying for both HOYS and The Royal International.

My switch to eventing started with 'Bletchendon Fanfare', a 14.2hh pure Connemara pony. We were selected in 2006 to ride for Great Britain at Necarne Castle which was amazing.

Through the Whitmore family, I gained the ride on 'Glenayre Bay Surf' another 14hh pure Connemara pony. Willy, as he was known at home, never finished out of the top 10 in any pony trial and respectively finished 4th in 2007 at the National Pony Championships, which gained us a place as a 1st reserve for the European Championships in Freudenberg, Germany. The following year he finished 6th at the National Championships which then earned a place on the British team to go to the European Championships in Avenches, Switzerland. We finished 10th individually.

In my last year of ponies, we purchased 'Mossfort' (Hungry) a 15hh TB x ID. We thought that because he was small he would be a nice transition from ponies to horses. The idea was to do some CCI* and then sell him. But Hungry proved to be a horse in a million. He was wasn't the easiest, however, he was the bravest horse I have ever sat on but unbelievably strong. All these little quirks taught me to ride and have got me where I am today. He took me from PN to CCI***. The highlights included being placed in numerous junior and young rider trials, double clear in our first advanced, 12th in the Young Rider National Championships and double clear round our first CCI*** at Blenheim.

In our first CCI** together at Weston Park, Ewart Woolley had spotted me on Hungry and approached me about riding 'Pebbly Flux' for Juniors. This proved to be a very successful combination we were placed at numerous OIU21's and gained a place on the British team for the European Championships in 2010 at Bad Segerberg, Germany.I was then asked to ride 'Keep Your Options Open', the best I have ever ridden and probably will ever ride. We won the CIC** at Gatcombe, 3rd in the Advanced at Chatsworth, won the CCI***U25 championships and won the ProAM pairs with Caroline Powell at Bramham in 2011.

I then began university and decided to put horses on hold for a while, but that didn't last long, after just six months at university I left. This was when I had the incredible opportunity to start working with Childéric saddles.

I began training with Tricia in August 2013, working with Childéric is the most rewarding and enjoyable job. I feel being able to combine my knowledge and feel as a rider with experience as a saddle fitter works brilliantly when I'm working with riders and therefore offers a unique service.

After a couple of years successfully retraining ex-racehorses to event, I now have my own horse who I aim to get back to 2/3 star level with. He is such a great all-round horse, we finished 4th in Medium Silver at this year's winter regionals, and we hope that we can qualify for the summer, regionals again this year while managing a busy work/ eventing schedule.
